Since 1889

A canyon, a rope bridge, and 137 years of crossing it.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park began as a single rope-and-cedar span across the canyon — built by Scottish engineer George Grant Mackay with the help of August Jack Khahtsahlano. Today it stretches across seven attractions and twenty-seven acres of coastal temperate rainforest, but the feeling of standing in the middle of the bridge — wind in the firs, river far below — has not changed.
